The machinery used on a site dictates the speed, safety, and environmental impact of the project. At Tilsley Groundworks, we do not hire in plant; we own it. Our strategic partnership with Volvo Construction Equipment allows us to operate one of the most modern fleets in the Midlands. This investment strategy eliminates "standing time" caused by hire-shop delays and ensures every machine meets the latest Stage V emission standards.
Heavy Earthworks & Site Clearance
For our commercial partners, capacity is key. Our fleet includes heavy-duty Volvo EC250E excavators capable of handling bulk earthworks, site remediation, and cut-and-fill operations up to 30,000m³. These machines are equipped with advanced GPS technology to ensure site levels are accurate to the millimetre, reducing concrete over-spends and muck-away volumes.
Precision & Residential Access
For our residential clients, we deploy compact power. Our Volvo ECR25D zero-tail swing excavators and micro-diggers are designed for "surgical" excavation. Featuring rubber tracks to protect finished driveways and a compact footprint (750mm width) to fit through garden gates, these machines allow us to deliver major engineering works in confined domestic spaces without collateral damage.
Logistics & Muck Away
We complete the cycle with our own logistics fleet. Our 8-wheel heavy haulage tippers and grab lorries handle all aggregate delivery and waste removal (muck away) in-house. This ensures that waste is disposed of responsibly at licensed recycling facilities, providing full duty-of-care trails for your compliance records.

Tilsley Groundworks is fully accredited by CHAS and SMAS Worksafe, ensuring our health and safety procedures align with the rigorous KPIs of national housebuilders and Tier 1 main contractors.
Carbon Reduction (Scope 3 Emissions)
We are actively supporting our clients' Net Zero targets through our Carbon Reduction Plan (PPN 06/21). By transitioning our core fleet to Stage V engines, we have significantly reduced Particulate Matter (PM) and Nitrogen Oxide (NOx) emissions compared to older rental fleets. Furthermore, our focus on on-site material processing (crushing concrete for 6F2 capping) reduces lorry movements and embodies carbon.
