EMERGENCY DRAINAGE REPAIR & SEWER CONNECTIONS
Blocked drain? Collapsed pipe? Subsidence? We own our fleet, meaning we can mobilise immediately to dig deep, repair the break, and reinstate your ground. Serving Staffordshire and the West Midlands 24/7.

SuDS EXPLAINED
We Don't Wait for Hire Shops
In a drainage emergency, time is the enemy. A collapsed sewer pipe or a flooded garden requires immediate action. Most local builders or plumbers rely on third-party plant hire shops, meaning they can’t start digging until the machinery is delivered, often waiting until Monday morning.
Tilsley Groundworks is different. We own our excavators, dumpers, and shoring equipment. When you call our emergency line, we load our own machinery onto our own transport and mobilize to your property. We turn "standing time" into "fixing time," preventing further damage to your home’s foundations.
Critical Repairs & Excavation
Collapsed Drains & Excavation
High-pressure jetting can clear a blockage, but it cannot fix a collapsed pipe. If your drains have suffered structural failure due to tree root ingress or vehicle weight, we provide the permanent solution. We excavate down to the break, whether it’s 1m or 3m deep, replace the damaged clay or PVC pipework, and backfill with structural stone to prevent future movement.

Subsidence Stabilization
Leaking drains are a leading cause of subsidence. Water escaping into the soil washes away the fines beneath your footings, causing the house to sink. We treat the cause and the symptom. We repair the leaking drainage system and perform mass concrete underpinning to restabilise your property’s foundations, protecting your asset from structural failure.

Planned Connections & Infrastructure
New Sewer Connections
Connecting a new build or extension to the main public sewer requires strict adherence to water authority standards (e.g., Severn Trent). We are approved installers for road openings and sewer connections. We handle the Section 106 application, traffic management, and the physical connection, ensuring all works are signed off by the local inspector.

Septic Tanks & Soakaways
For rural properties in Lichfield and Tamworth without mains access, we install compliant off-grid sewage solutions. We supply and install Klargester and Tricel treatment plants, designing efficient drainage fields (soakaways) that meet the latest environmental regulations.

The Repair Protocol

1
Locate the Break
We don't dig blind. Using advanced CCTV survey cameras, we travel down the pipe to locate the exact point of the collapse or root intrusion, marking the ground above with precision.
2
The Dig
We cut the tarmac or concrete cleanly. Using our compact excavators and trench shoring boxes (to prevent wall collapse), we dig down to the pipe safely, managing the excavated soil to keep your driveway clean.
3
Fix and Finish
We replace the damaged section with modern, durable PVC pipework. Once tested, we reinstate the surface, matching your existing tarmac, block paving, or concrete so you can hardly tell we were there.
Rural Drainage Solutions & 2020 Compliance
If you own a rural property, the law has changed. Under the General Binding Rules (2020), it is no longer legal for a septic tank to discharge directly into a watercourse (stream or ditch). If your system does this, you must upgrade it to a Sewage Treatment Plant before you sell your property.
We specialise in these upgrades. We can decommission your old, non-compliant tank and install a modern Sewage Treatment Plant. These units treat the waste using aerobic bacteria, producing water clean enough to discharge into a watercourse legally. We handle the sizing calculations to ensure the plant can cope with the number of bedrooms in your home.

Drainage & Emergency FAQ
Will my buildings insurance cover the repair?
Will my buildings insurance cover the repair?
In many cases, yes—especially if the damage is accidental (e.g., vehicle damage) or sudden (collapse). While we are not insurance adjusters, we provide detailed CCTV reports and quotations that clearly outline the "Accidental Damage," which you can submit to your insurer to support your claim.
Can you work in the public highway/road?
Can you work in the public highway/road?
Yes. Our supervisors hold NRSWA (New Roads and Street Works Act) accreditation. This allows us to legally set up traffic management (cones/lights), open the public highway to connect sewers, and reinstate the road to council standards.
How deep can you dig?
How deep can you dig?
Our fleet capabilities allow us to excavate safely to depths of 4 meters and beyond. For deep excavations, we utilize trench boxes and trench sheets to ensure the safety of our operatives and the stability of the ground near your home.
